Methodist Church of Ghana is recruiting for Public Affairs and Communication Officer

Job Description

The role:
The role requires a qualified Public Relations practitioner and a practising Christian who report directly to the Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of Public Relations strategies to positively manage the Church's image and reputation.

Manage and enhance the Church's reputation
Communicate effectively the strategic internet and values of the church through propagating Church Vision, Mission, Purpose and other strategic objectives
Lead change management communication in the implementation of the church's strategic plan
Serve as communication liaison between Presiding Bishop's Office, the Church and other stakeholders
Advise and assist Diocesan Bishops in handling activities reflecting on the image and reputation of The Methodist Church Ghana
Assist in managing the church's publication
Support the management of Ecumerical Relations
Handle Media and other stakeholder relation
Handle Protocol/Consular activities
Coordinate and communicate the church's Corporate Social responsibility activities


Required Skills or Experience

Strong organizational, implementation, coordinating and evaluation skills
Self-starting, self-motivated and a very proactive person
Ability to anticipate and manage situations calmly and successfully
Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills
Must have strong media relations
Must be computer literate
Must be a practicing Christian
A first or second degree in the Social sciences
A post graduate qualifications in Communications Studies or Public Relations
Minimum of five years experience as a successful Public Relations practitioner
