Trucking Manager - Damco, Cairo, Egypt

General area of responsibility: The Trucking Manager will supervise and coordinate all aspects of Trucking and documentation process for customers, and be the key player in developing the 3rd party trucking product to clients in Egypt. The position will be fully responsible for the trucking volume and financial budget. The position holder might need to travel for business purposes to the branch offices in Port Said, Alexandria and other locations.

Specific tasks and areas of responsibility:

· Act as internal and external key person for Trucking services for Damco Egypt.
· Manage Trucking staff and ensure a smooth work flow with other activities.
· Pro actively implement new Trucking customers, and projects, as well as monitor the department’s performance in invoicing, documentation and filing for Trucking shipments in an orderly and timely manner
· Adhere to job costing procedures and timely closing of files
· Properly manage subcontractors and ensure contracts are in place
· Pro actively communicate Trucking performance including mishaps to relevant parties
· Be the key player in improving Trucking service levels
· Manages, coordinates and ensures the running of the owned truck fleet.
· Represents the company in front of third parties (Insurance companies, Government agencies etc.) and suppliers.
· Coordinates maintenance activities for owned fleet.
· Responsible for budgets and yearly financial results
· Manages and develops the truck fleet in order to sustain the current and future objectives of the company.
· Is up-to-date with National and International freight regulations.
