Job Title: PROCUREMENT OFFICER - INFLIGHT AND FUEL

Brief Description

ASSIST MANAGER INFLIGHT & FUEL PROCUREMENT IN DEVELOPING , IMPLEMENTING AND MAINTAINING STRATEGIES FOR COST EFFECTIVE PROCURMENT OF ALL INFLIGHT & FUEL REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE A SAFE AND RELIABLE SUPPLY CHAIN FOR KENYA AIRWAYS

Detailed Description

1. Implementing procurement policies, procedures and strategy to ensure procurement for in-flight and fuel supplies delivers best value.
2. Source in-flight & Fuel requirements which meet KQ quality standards for smooth operation of the business.
3. Assist the Manager In-flight & Fuel procurement in carrying out periodic cost/benefit analysis and benchmarks on procurement methods to ensure best options are used to achieve quality for in-flight & Fuel purchases.
4. Ensure stake-holders adhere to laid down procurement procedures and policies to improve current practices, which will in turn bring down costs.
5. Assist the Manager in implementing negotiations of best prices and terms of contracts with in-flight & fuel suppliers across the network to achieve savings.
6. Implement and enhance the use of IS systems to speed up and simplify procurement processes.
7. Respond to procurement queries to enable users to act accordingly.
8. Prepare weekly/monthly purchasing reports for management information and action.
9. Expediting for timely delivery of all the in-flight & fuel procurement requirements and ensuring daily update of the stock position for the critical requirements to the Manager for immediate action to avoid stock outs.
10. Undertake supplier rationalization, development and performance rating to ensure on time deliveries, quality assurance, customer satisfaction and supplier date base maintenance.


Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

* Graduate Diploma in supplies management or equivalent from a recognised institution is desirable
* IATA Contracting Framework
* Experience in handling In-flight & Fuel purchases
* Computer proficiency
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Analytical skills
* Knowledge on tender procedures
* 3 years experience in purchasing.

* Commercially aware and familiarity with Inflights and Oil markets.
