Commercial Sales Manager (Benin) CISL - Container Inland Services (CIS), Cotonou, Benin

It is the second largest Import Country in Sub Saharan Africa Area in terms of Container Business.

The Container Inland Services (CIS) known as Lilypond Container Depot Nigeria Limited (LCDNL) was established to manage and operate Lilypond Container Terminal. Under the agreement, Lilypond Container Depot will develop, operate and manage the inland container terminal for a period of ten years. Included in the total area of 120,000 square meters is a container stacking area of 100,000 square meters, an office complex and maintenance workshop. Lilypond Container Depot is implementing a development plan that includes new Reach Stackers, refurbishment of the container stacking area, renovation of office and workshop complex, new container management system as well as training for the staff. In addition to the import container storage operations, the intermodal dispatch and trucking department operate out of Lilypond Container Depot. The current throughput capacity is 2,400 TEU. This will increase to 3,935 TEU.

The Position: Commercial Sales Manager- Container Inland Services (CIS) Benin.

Location: Cotonou, Benin

§ To drive all sales and marketing activity in Rep of Benin and Togo

§ Develop sales pipeline for CICL

§ Development of 3rd party business

§ Track and analyse market development in location

§ Assist cluster Commercial Manager with pipeline management

§ Market monitoring and market assessment

§ Handle customer queries, communication

§ Coordinate events where necessary

§ Local advertising and branding campaign


§ Drive teamwork, create high performing business relationships, balance commercial and customer motivations to deliver outstanding results.

§ Create sales forecast

§ Rates and service negotiations


§ Lead sales/marketing initiatives, market assessment, identify target markets, and conduct customer/competitive intelligence.

§ Identify target customer and positioning; and translate this into an integrated sales/marketing strategy.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

§ Take full ownership and responsibility for analysing, monitoring and driving financial and non-financial targets.

§ Driving and managing customer’s value proposition to secure growth and a profitable sales development.


§ Championing the development and deployment of best practices within sales and marketing by partnering with the global, area and cluster organizations.

§ Proactively reinforce APM Group culture, values and reputation by ensuring compliance with APM Group policies.

§ Translation of the sales and marketing strategy into business targets, budgets and tangible plans.

§ Manage strategic business relationships with key client to achieve profitable bottom line.

§ Provide strategic direction for business promotion planning, developing information gathering systems and interfacing with clients.

§ Manage the field sales force to achieve set targets through a continuous interaction with sales team and key customers.
