Trainee ROV Pilots vacancy at Subsea 7
Ghana Based - Trainee ROV PilotsThe Trainee ROV Pilot Technician has the primary responsibility for assisting in the operation maintenance and repair of the Remotely Operated Vehicle system. He/she will also be responsible for his/her own safety and must comply with the Company HSEQ policy at all times.
These key responsibilities are structured as follows:
Assist with all areas of the ROV operations in accordance with Company procedures.
Complete video, dive and Planned Maintenance System paperwork as directed by senior ROV team members.
Assist with general maintenance and repair duties as directed by the senior members if the ROV team
Undertake all training in ROV operations and maintenance in accordance with the Company competence assurance scheme
Build a portfolio of evidence for the company's ROV competency assurance scheme. Present the portfolio at intervals for assessment and verification and occasionally for client audit where applicable.
Conduct stock checks and inventory updates on a regular basis, report all low stock items and re-order where necessary under the supervision of a senior ROV team member.
Undertake navigation and observers duties and operating of manipulators and ancillary equipment fitted to the ROV under supervision.
Assist with pre and post dive checks of ROV under supervision of a senior ROV team member
Check with a senior team member on the status of the vehicle buoyancy, special fits or any limitations to the system.
Key skills, experience and qualifications:-
Possession of a formal qualification at diploma or higher level in one of the following disciplines is required; electronics/electrics, hydraulics/ mechanical or mechatronics.
Some work related experience at a technician level within one of the aforementioned disciplines would be advantageous.
Ability to communicate effectively in a team situation and demonstrate good team working skills.
Demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving in a systematic and logical manner.
Candidates should be able to show a flexible and willing attitude towards carrying out their duties.
Show commitment to continuous learning and development of their skills will be key, as they will be required to undergo extensive training programme and an ongoing requirement to complete the Companies competence scheme as they progress through the Company to the next level.
