The area: Business Development
The New Business Development group works with Product, Engineering and other teams on new product incubation and exploratory efforts, technology and meta-data licensing, strategic partnerships, urgent special projects, and alternative distribution for existing and new business initiatives. Our team consists of creative, entrepreneurial, highly organized leaders, well versed in a broad range of technologies, who can spot opportunities, evaluate inbound inquiries, build partnerships, collaborate with many internal functional groups globally, and negotiate and close business deals.
The role: New Business Development Manager
New Business Development Managers are self-starters who will work closely with the Google product team on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships. You are a top performer who has a deep interest in the internet technology industry and Google products.
Development Managers have deal and partnership experience. In order to succeed in this group, you also must be entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, and adaptive. When interacting with internal and external clients, you will need to possess good judgment, be persistent and action oriented, and be highly collaborative.
Responsibilities:
Co-lead exploratory discussions with potential partners.
Evaluate opportunities and present recommendations to the management team.
Open doors, negotiate and close business deals.
Communicate and collaborate with a broad range of constituents (product, engineering, marketing, sales, legal and top external executives).
Requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent required, CS/tech degree or MBA a plus.
Extensive experience in partner management, product management or product marketing in an internet or technology startup environment and experience identifying partners, analyzing and structuring complex deal structures with a proven track record of deal negotiation and execution.
In-depth experience operating within and leading cross-functional teams (product management, implementation, legal, finance, marketing, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to formulate and articulate contractual, technical, financial and value points with partners and internal Google teams and high level of comfort escalating and presenting key deal issues to Google senior management when appropriate; solution-oriented mind-set a must.
Ability to balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive project/deals at once in a fast paced environment with minimal direction.
Strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and passion for and understanding of Google products with the ability to quickly learn about new technologies.
