MDF Offshore installation Managers for EgyptMaersk Drilling is seeking experienced Offshore Installation Managers for our offshore rigs in Egypt. Applicants will be hired on an international contract with Maersk Drilling and will be working on offshore Jack-Ups owned and operated by Egyptian Drilling Company.
The OIM is responsible for managing all aspects of the offshore operation to ensure a safe and efficient utilization of the personnel and the facilities. Management is exercised in close consultation with the Barge Engineer, Rig Engineer, Senior Tool Pusher and the Client's Representative. The OIM is overall responsible for the safety of all personnel onboard and for safeguarding the integrity of the MODU and the environment. Responsible for establishing the Safety Organization comprising the Safety Groups and the Safety Committee and arranging nomination/election of Safety Representatives.
Other responsibilities include:
· Check that all rig personnel possess the necessary technical qualifications and experience to properly carry out the work assigned to them, from a professional as well as a safety point of view.
· Check that rig and equipment certificates are valid, and that they are renewed in time before date of expiry.
· Follow up the monitoring of the working environment on board.
· Ensure that all personnel on board are well instructed in respect of avoiding pollution of the outer environment.
· Ensure proper daily keeping and signing of journals/log books in connection with the operations.
· Assist in updating and improving existing procedures and instructions or preparing new ones when required.
· Carry out inspections of the rig including the accommodations and all equipment in cooperation with the staff on board. Particular attention is to be paid to safety and rescue equipment.
· Ensure that all relevant documentation in respect of international and national rules and regulations concerning the rig and/or the operations to be carried out from the rig are updated; and that the rig personnel it may concern are informed.
· Control budget and inventory on the rig.
We are looking for candidates who hold a valid Master Mariner certificate STCW III/2 (unlimited) and have extensive offshore experience preferably on Jack-up rigs.
Certified in management of Major Emergencies is preferred and the candidate should be fluent in English written and verbal as well as conversant with computerized maintenance systems.
