Gateway is currently actively hiring for the following positions:

Network Specialist - IP
Location: (Nairobi, Kenya)
Our continuing growth in Kenya has led to the creation of this new position. The role will involve liaising with the Group Design Team on all IP related matters and the implementation of IP design / change controls. Responsibilities also include the setting-up, management and monitoring of all existing services / infrastructure in the Operation Centre.

Candidates must have a university degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Second Class minimum) and at least 5 years post graduation experience of network design, implementation, configuration and support together with a good knowledge of Network Management / Monitoring systems such as Solar Winds, MRTG or Cisco Works.

Prospective candidates must be Cisco Certified (minimum CCNP), with excellent routing and switching skills and knowledge of IP Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP etc). Knowledge of Idirect hub management, Linux, Cisco PIX firewalls, MPLS and BGP design, implementation and support experience would all be of added advantage.

Sales Executive
Location: (Nairobi, Kenya)
We are expanding our commercial team in Kenya and this has led to the creation of this new position. The successful candidate will manage existing accounts and create new sales opportunities within the Kenyan market. The jobholder will engage and partner with customers both new and existing to drive growth in business services and corporate internet sales / solutions by creating value and bringing innovation to our customer's business. Teaming within an extended account team the jobholder will ensure that our Business Services division becomes the primary international communications service provider to the customer. This will be achieved through development of account strategies and by the understanding of market trends and the customer's needs and competitive landscape.

The ideal candidate should have a proven sales track record within the telecommunications industry. Probably aged between the ages of 25 - 35 years and with a minimum of 3 years sales experience, applicants will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the ICT sector in Kenya.

Customer Support Operator
Location: (nr Brussels, Belgium)
Based at the Customer Support department in Gosselies you ensure superior customer satisfaction for our over 130 telecommunication providers.

You require very strong customer service skills with a focus on effective and timely communication using telephone, e-mail or other means. Your challenge is to maintain for all internal and external customers the highest possible degree of confidence with respect to the status of their service related issues.

You carry out all monitoring and first level fault management for the Gateway Communications network systems while on a Duty Rota in a 24/7 customer support and technical role. You take initiative and ensure problem resolution by initiating and assignments to second line support, external third party companies and by keeping the customer updated on the status of problem resolution.

The responsibility covers the entire infrastructure: telecommunications equipment such as switching (TDM and Next Generation Network/VOIP “Veraz”) and compression systems, modems, satellite and other transmission equipment, quality and monitoring systems (for Business Support Systems – Operations Support Systems).



The following could be considered as a plus but and are not mandatory:

a theoretical knowledge or experience in Telecommunications, Switching/Radio Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.
a practical working experience in the OMC/NOC as an engineer/technician.
Fluency in both English and French is required.
