This role directs the financial affairs of a real estate organisation and prepares financial analysis of operations for the guidance of management in annual plan projections and forecasting.It also supervises general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting and budgetary controls including the preparation of financial statements, capital account reports, budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements and bank reconciliation; project budgets; job cost reporting and variance analysis; maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger; coordination and supervision of audits and financial reports and tax returns; and the management of all accounting systems. The job holder serves as liaison to external accountants, attorneys; supports and maintains relationships with financial / banking partners etc and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals, performing the underlisted duties and responsibilities.

Job Key Responsibilities/Skills: -
Successful candidate will:

develop, analyse, and interprete statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organisation

maintain the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets

establish major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations

coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyse and report variances

be responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes

furnish internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnish external reports as necessary

determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions

evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities

have the final responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organisation

Other Job Requirements: -

Applicants must posssess:

BA/BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major. A Masters Degree is preferred.

ICAN Certification is required and international certifications are a plus.

At least 7+ years of experience in financial management with a tax and audit background.

Excellent computer skills mandatory.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong management, mentoring and team building skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize the efforts of an accounting team.
