Job vacancy 1: Regional Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) Officer at International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Lagos Regional Office

Job Description: The Successful candidate would report to the Regional Health Manager.

Job Key Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with National societies especially with the Red Cross National Societies of West Coast at all levels where practical furthering the public health/WatSan agenda wherever possible, while assisting country WatSan/Health delegates/Officers and/or NS Staff and Volunteers to effectively implement WatSan Project and programme.

2. Co-ordinate activities with other Participating National Society and Bilateral Delegates.

3. Ensure that the health and care agenda is holistic, and encompasses fully WatSan as part of public and preventive health.

Skill:

· A high degree of competence in Management of strategy; planning; budget and resources; monitoring; supervision and control; reporting; communication; networking; management of self and others.

Qualification:

· Degree or Diploma in Water/Sanitation or Civil engineering, Degree or Diploma in Public Health or in Community Health/Social Development Field. Further qualification in Water/sanitation or civil engineering is an advantage

Language: English and French (advantage)

Experience:

· Working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent and/ or Humanitarian Aid

· Writing narrative and financial reports

· Planning, managing and budgeting projects

· Minimum of 3 years working WatSan Experience in a developed country and/or minimum 4years working WatSan experience in a developed country

Duration: 1 year

Job Vacancy 2: Regional Health Manager at International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Lagos Regional Office

Job Description: Successful candidate would report to the Regional Programmes Coordinator.

Job Key Responsibilities:

1. Assure effective coordination of all health activities on regional office level in relation to the action plan defined by the zonal health Unit.

2. Assist NS(s) and Regional Office to develop and implement Health Oriented Programmes.

3. Develop partnership and assure that potential donors are approach for support to health programmes.

4. Produce health activity reports and share those with the NS in the region.

Skill:

· A high degree of competence in Management of strategy; planning; budget and resources; monitoring; supervision and control; reporting; communication; networking; management of self and others.

Qualification:

· Degree in Medicine or its equivalent degree in Social Science or Health, and a post graduate degree in public health (MSc, M.PH, M.A)

Language: English and French (advantage)

Experience:

· Managing & Supporting Staff.

· Working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent and/ or Humanitarian Aid in developing country.

· Writing narrative and financial reports

· Planning, managing and budgeting projects

· Minimum of 3 years working with public health after qualifying.

Duration:1 year
